Care Quality Commission Inspection

Dated: 29-Nov-18

The recent Care Quality Commission Inspection concluded that The Hungerford Surgery has a 'clear caring approach to patients', they had received 'positive feedback from patients', 'staff are committed to their work' and 'effective clinical systems seen'. However, the Surgery is disappointed to have received an overall rating of 'Requires Improvement'. Areas to review and make improvements were noted as 'clearer roles and responsibilities of staff, prescription protocols, dissemination of learning to all staff, outstanding actions from risk assessments, staff recruitment checks and staff training records'. We take these recommendations very seriously and are already addressing the issues raised. We can also categorically reassure our patients that there were no clinical concerns raised during the inspection. The surgery has had a challenging phase of transition due to various staff changes but we are confident that the measures now in place will quickly address the CQC's findings.
