Ante natal

Ante natal care is provided by the team of midwives based at Chipping Norton Hospital. The midwives hold clinics at Bloxham on Thursday mornings.

Asthma Clinic

These clinics are run by the Practice Nurse for assessment of patients with asthma and review of their medication.

An annual check up is recommended with our practice asthma nurse.

Baby Clinic

Baby clinics are held at:

  • Bloxham Children's Centre, Butterfly Meadow - Wednesday 1pm - 2.15pm

Minor Surgery

The doctors carry out minor surgery procedures on Monday afternoons. It is necessary for the GP to assess your needs before an appointment for the clinic can be made.

Social Prescribing

Social prescribing is a way of linking patients with sources of support within the community. It provides health professionals with a non–medical referral option that can operate alongside existing treatments to improve health and wellbeing.

Taster activities include:

  • Health walks
  • Seated zumba
  • Art classes
  • Dance
  • Befrienders scheme
  • Computer classes
  • Movement classes
  • Men's group
  • Music
If you would like to join a similar group, ask at the practice about the social prescribing scheme.

Treatment of Common Illnesses

Many everyday illnesses can be managed at home without the need to consult a doctor. We have some NHS booklets available at both surgeries which give guidelines on how to deal with many less serious problems. However if you are worried please telephone the surgery for advice.

Dr Edwards holds a well woman clinic on Thursday afternoons.

The mission of the ECCA is to inform you about cervical cancer and how it can be prevented.

Additional Facilities

At Bloxham there is a Dentist, Physiotherapy Clinic and Complementary Therapy Centre on site.  The therapists are independent private practitioners, information is available at both surgeries about the therapies and all therapists are fully qualified and members of the appropriate regulatory association.

Counsellor, Elizabeth Webb is available to NHS patients at Bloxham, appointments are by GP referral.

Please print off and return a travel risk assessment form to the surgery at least 6 weeks before you travel. You will then be advised what vaccinations you require.
