We (and our patients!) are fortunate that we have a choice of local hospitals:
West Berkshire Community Hospital (about 10 miles away) – extensive out-patients and x-ray facilities, minor to medium surgery, including cataracts, urology, gynaecology, and orthopaedics.
Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading (about 27 miles away) – A large and busy District General Hospital facility – with a full range of facilities, and a wide range of consultants.
Savernake Community Hospital, Marlborough (about 9 miles away) – out-patients and X-ray facilites (linked to Swindon).
Great Western Hospital, Swindon (about 15 miles away) – a brand new (opened December 2002) District General Hospital (replacing Princess Margaret Hospital, Swindon), built under the PFI scheme.
Oxford Hospitals (John Radcliffe, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Radcliffe Infirmary, Churchill Hospital) (about 30 miles away) – extensive facilities at a world-class teaching hospital.
