GP Fees for Non NHS Services

The NHS provides most health care free of charge however there are a number of other services that are not covered for which fees are charged. If a GP signs a certificate or completes a report it is a professional duty that he/she checks the accuracy of such information. This may involve examining the patient’s entire medical record. The fee will reflect both the doctor’s time to carry out the service and the doctor’s professional opinion. It may also include the cost of nursing, secretarial or administrative support.

If you have any concerns about the fee involved please discuss this with your doctor or nurse prior to requesting the service.
There is a £10 charge for a private prescription.

Method of Payment

Currently we accept cards (Visa and Mastercard only), cash and cheques. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Ringmead Medical Practice”.

Payment for services provided to patients not registered here must be in cash or card only.

Full Payment must be made at the beginning of a course of treatment/vaccinations.

Travel

Some vaccinations required for travel purposes carry a fee. Once a travel questionnaire has been completed and our practice nurse has made her recommendations, the cost of your vaccinations/treatment will be quoted.
